• The Danube Delta is the largest natural reservation from the humid lands of Europe, expanding over a surface of 2.681 km2. In 1990, UNESCO included The Danube Delta, the newest land formation in Romania, protected from the ”progress of industrialization”, on the list with the reservations of the biosphere.
• Biserica Neagra (The Black Church) in Braşov is the largest religious site built in Gothic style in South-Eastern Europe. With a capacity of over 5.000 people, the famous religious site in Braşov is 90m long and 37 m height, with a cross tower measuring 65 m in height.

• Dracula is in fact the nickname used by the Sasz population to overshadow the reputation of Vlad Tepeş, the Prince of Wallachia. In reality, there is no connection between the vampire legend and the Prince. Writings of the time show him as a tyrant, a monster, a vampire who drank human blood (n.t. because of the punishment method he used on the boyars). Such writings must have served as sources of inspiration for the emergence of the character Dracula.
• Aurel Vlaicu was a Romanian engineer, inventor and a pioneer of Romanian and world aviation. In 1910, after working as an engineer for Opel in Russelheim he returned to Orastie, Romania and began to build the first aircraft ”Vlaicu I”. The aircraft was well built, stabile and easily manoeuvrable, and won him several international awards placing him on the same level with other pioneers of aviation of the time, like Rolland Garos.

• Corneliu Miklosi (1887-1963)
He was born in Timisoara in 1887.
He graduated Polytechnic University from Timisoara, Mechanics Faculty, Department: Railroad rolling stock.
He invented in 1938 for the first time in history the first machine for soldering train and tram rails, called “Taurus”
• 1949 – it takes place the first international handball game in Romania
• 1953 – first European city with state theatres in 3 languages (Romanian, Hungarian and German)
• 1988 – it is accomplished the first electronic robot in Romania, REMT 1
